www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=1588524&DB_OEM_ID=500i'm guessing 35 recruits helped us receive the #2 rank but this statement says we brought in some quality players as well: The Ducks first signing class in 27 years under head coach George Horton includes nine players that were drafted in the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Wow, very impressive. I think that says a lot about Horton and the rest of the staff. Great to have baseball at Oregon again.

Yeah, it sounds pretty good, especially in the pitching staff, which is huge. It will be very important in the first year to have a really good up-the-middle group.... pitching, catching, ss, 2b, and a good field general at CF. Catching is a big concern of mine, but I guess a big catching prospect just showed up recently. So that's pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to it. I'm planning on taking lots of pics at the games, too.

its a decent class, and thats it.
its the #2 ranked class because of sheer volume, nothing more. what does scare me about this is the lack of NW kids on here. cali kids have trouble playing ball in oregon because they are not used to the rain and wind that we get. it will be an interesting season to say the least, but my expectations are low for the season

That probably seems like a more realistic ranking. Like duck07 said, the reason we were so high in the other ranking is because of the amount of recruits we had.. Either way, great class to start off baseball.
