This is from a chat on Baseballamerica.com with Aaron Fitt thier top college baseball guy.
Q: Tyler from San Diego asks: What schools do you think next year have a chance of getting in the Top 25 that aren't in it this year? Also, what programs do you think will appear on the radar in the next coupe years. The up and coming programs? A: Aaron Fitt: Fun question. A few up-and-coming teams that I think are poised for top 25-caliber seasons in 2009: San Diego State, UC Santa Barbara, South Florida, Santa Clara. A couple for the next few years: St. Mary's, High Point (I like the Butch Thompson hire a great deal), and the real wild card, Oregon. Seriously, don't be surprised if the Ducks find themselves in the top 25 next year — many of their top recruits slipped in the draft and could wind up at Eugene. Those guys could hit the ground running. Pretty Cool if you ask me.

Wow, top 25, huh?
I really don't know much about our team, but a first year team in a pretty good conference seems pretty tough. I'd be happy to just have a winning season.

Beauty of college baseball...I really don't think college seniors are much more advanced than freshman...theres typically a reason theyre still playing college ball as seniors as opposed to the freshmen that could be very talented. The more I've watched the CWS this year, the more annoyed I am by the aluminum bats...they need to scrap em...these are grown men using metal bats...they don't even need half decent contact to knock one out. I kind of strayed off topic there...but given the facilities and coach, I could see them instantly being in contention.

honestly i don't see them contending instantly next year. I think they wil lucky to be a .500 team. Playing in the pac-10 is very difficult, probably one of the top 2 conf. in the country. And they defiantly need to get rid of the aluminum bats, the only thing they have going in their favor is that they are more cost effective than wood bats. But a pitcher will be seriously injured one day if they remain in use.

Pac-10 is tough, and as a first year team, I think we'll struggle.

I'm confused...why did you write to tell him that? That link gave him grading teams based on last year's performance...last season the Ducks didn't have a team. I'm guessing his reply was a sarcastic one back to you. Don't understand what could have possibly gotten a reaction from you given that article...
